Build Combos Without Breaking Them
Use space, gravity and a safe meeting point to bring two special pieces together before a stray cascade fires them.

Choose a meeting point
The middle of an open board usually offers more approach routes than an edge. Build toward a square that can accept movement from at least two directions.
Avoid creating the second special piece in the blast path of the first. The pairing only matters if both pieces survive long enough to touch.

Read gravity twice
First trace the pieces used by your intended match. Then trace what will fall through the spaces they leave. The second movement is where accidental activations often begin.
A lower match can shift an entire lane; a side match may preserve vertical alignment. Use the smallest disturbance that advances the pairing.

Know when to abandon
If the objective is nearly complete, forcing a perfect combo can waste moves. Convert the setup into direct progress and carry the lesson forward. A clean finish is more useful than a beautiful failure.
