01
Read the scoring layers
Each game defines its own base values and special-piece rules. A cascade may add a chain bonus, an event may multiply selected actions and a final screen may apply another calculation.
Treat the interface and official help text as the authority. A guide can explain a structure, but it should not invent a universal point table.
Base
The value assigned to the ordinary action.
Chain
A bonus linked to consecutive or cascading actions.
Window
The period during which a multiplier applies.
Total
The result after the game's displayed calculation.
02
Compare within one rule set
Use the same title, mode and ranking window when tracking improvement. A raw score from another game or event is not a common unit.
A personal best can come from a better setup, a favourable drop or both. Notes about the decisive move are more reusable than the number alone.
03
Leaderboards need labels
Platform systems can support recurring, social and all-time comparisons. Reset time, eligibility and score ordering change what a rank means.
Check whether larger or smaller values are favoured and whether the board shows friends or a wider pool. Report suspicious submissions to the publisher rather than confronting another player.
